#708 Where is everyone & what did you do today.

Posted by Belle on 10 March 2014 - 04:26 PM

I remember when Susy was first opening this forum for "US" and how grateful I was that we wouldn't lose track of our "elders" ( Be they old folks like me or just long standing ptr-ers)

I am a Canadian but my roots are as a member of the S'Klallam Band in Sequim, Washington.  The Jamestown S'Klallam band is there for all its members but one of the main benefits is an emphasis on its elders.

They have many special benefits for elders as well as using the last generations to pass on their knowledge to the new  members. So much has been lost by our Native population. ( Their language and their customs would be totally gone if it were not for the knowledge and generosity of our elders )

They have not only passed on their language and cultures but also their incredible and deep love of the land.

I know there is a major difference between a native band and this forum but I also feel that Susys forum parallels the Jamestown S'Klallam Band in many ways.  It is a place we can gather to share our knowledge, we can warn newbies of the many pitfalls in ptr etc. and we can also share our stories. Who we are and what we do or have done.

We have recently lost several elders from our band and sadly with each passing we also lose a vast amount of knowledge which if it hasn't been shared or recorded will be lost forever.

I have been in ptr since the mid 90’s and so many people ( both good and bad) have crossed my path. Where are they today? What are they doing?
Yes, Belle is in a babble bubble and old ages tends to send me wandering but I still....remember. ( sometimes )
Where is everyone and what are y’all doing?
Who helped you?
Who would you like to hear about ?

Two major forums that contained the "history" of this small corner of the world have been lost and with them went not only a huge amount of information but also we lost a place to learn, to share and to remember. A place to just drop in and see what's up and who is around.

We have gfo and the emphasis there is on support forums and ptr information. That is important and many read and post there. Affiliates Delight is a different kettle of fish. It is meant as a place to laugh, to play and to  share but it is also a place to learn and to maintain contact.

Since this forum opened I have discovered the arcade which is a great place to relax BUT...it really doesn't bring the members together  and that was a large part of the purpose. When Susy was first discussing how to save AD I recall seeing SSink. I hadn't seen her around for ages and I remember feeling sad at the thought I may completely lose contact.

There are many others I haven't seen in awhile but who helped me through my newbie days. Of course we all remember ........Little Princess, Enchanted,Roadrunner,Deerladie, Lennon2004, Cubby, Frenchy, Tas and of course my girl -Blue Dahlia as well as Bob-rbnlovespoh,trulyfair and many more.

Also of course I will never forget my sparring partner ani4ani aka Wiley north ( and many aka’s I have long forgotten ). I would honestly love to hear from her and know she is OK. Where are you ani4ani.???

What about YOU...what are you doing? Who do you want to say hi to?

Lets remember before we lose the opportunity..

#2557 Members Birthday's

Posted by Sophieca on 16 May 2014 - 12:46 PM

When and if the members have put their birthday in their profile, whch btw, you and I didn't do lol, then you can check the calendar and it shows there.

In the Menu, next to Arcade, you see 'More', when you click on that, the calendar shows with all the birthdays.

Also, on the index/homepage of the forum, on the right, under the box saying latest posts, you scroll down and you'll see Today's birthday.

I hope this is a start of help for your nice idea :)

#2554 Members Birthday's

Posted by Komodo on 16 May 2014 - 11:06 AM

Hi Susy, hi Shadow, hi members

Belle's birthday gave me "stimulus".

The most of us doesn't know the birthday date of the other members. But I think it's a nice matter to congrats the other members and for the birthday girl/boy it's a fun (or not - LOL). For me it would be a pleasure to congrat the others, but I know the date only if I read the congrats from the others by chance.

We would need one person (admin?) who has the general view of the birthday dates and will yearly start a post or so. Ladies (and men !), I only speek about the day not the year we're born!  :egyptian:

What do you think about this proposal?

#2497 Good Thoughts and Prayers Needed

Posted by Susy on 15 May 2014 - 04:50 PM

Thank you, Sophie.

She found out that her stomach specialist has put in the referral for her surgery, and has co-ordinated the whole thing between regular doctor, psychiatrist, specialist, and surgeon.   Since she's on both stomach meds and her anxiety/depression meds they have to be careful on surgery meds, etc.  Thankfully, her surgeon will be one of the foremost specialists in gastroparesis, so that's a plus.

Now the wait is on while she's getting approval for insurance and being weaned off the medications.

I hope that you're feeling better, and you find some ease for your pain.

A little birdie just told me that my post may have sounded like I was upset with you and nothing could be further from the truth.

I have read your posts for a long time and have never known you to post anything simply to bash anyone. Your post was factual and the type of information we need.... I agreed but I also wanted to share some of the reason.

#1210 RainingCashEmails hmmm

Posted by nana2camren on 23 March 2014 - 04:09 AM

I've been a member almost 3 years ... seems like things have been getting a little iffy in about the past year.

Last payout request a few months back at almost 60 days I inquired about my request and was informed by site helper that Dawn always pays within terms so I would be paid soon.  Was 99.9% certain terms were 30 days and I'd always before been paid within 30 days (usually much sooner) so puzzled I checked terms and yep said 60 days .... hmmm, was I just confused, or did I forget an admin, or were terms changed without notice?

Until my upgrade expired this past Dec I'd always continued upgrading every 6 months but when I renewed my upgrade last June (the one that expired Dec) it took a long to be processed and I lost out on PTP earnings from ads I had out. So in Dec I let it expire with no intention of renewing due to the previous delay and the above payout terms iffiness, plus I seldomly used the ads that come with the upgrade anyway.

A week ago I was going to cashout again but noticed I didn't have a cashout button.  Thought hmmm as last I remember cashout min was .25 cents and I had a bit over $2, in past had always let my balance build to $5-7 but now with 60 days decided I better get my request in.  Don't recall an admin about change in cashout min but it is now apparently $3 for free and $1 for upgraded.  Again, did I forget an admin or were changes made without notice?

Anyway decided to redeem for upgrade so could use PTP to reach payout min faster.  A week later and my account is still not upgraded.

There also used to be a link to the forum but that's gone now and no admin about that either.

I wonder if this is another program that's going to go down the tubes.

Update 4/18/14:  Has now been over a month since I redeemed for upgrade and account still not upgraded. 9 days since I finally sent a support ticket on subject and still nothing.

I wonder how many other members are waiting for an upgrade or ad to be processed.  A site that only allows upgraded members to use the PTP really should be more on top of support.
